Brightband chosen by AWS and IRCAI for 2024 Compute for Climate Fellowship

At Brightband we are heavy users of the latest AI compute, and store large amounts of weather data. We love credits ♥️

AWS is funding $1.5million in AWS credits for the second cohort of the Compute for Climate Fellowship. Each company spends 2-3 months building a Proof of Concept on AWS. The companies tap into the technical expertise of IRCAI (International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence) and AWS (Amazon Web Services).

The Compute for Climate Fellowship was created in 2023 by UNESCO, IRCAI and AWS to help climate tech startups accelerate R&D, build groundbreaking PoCs and create positive change. A competitive selection process with applications from 21 countries and 6 continents, led to 8 startups being selected for the second cohort of the Compute for Climate Fellowship, including Brightband.

Congratulations to our fellow Cohort 2 winners - Aigen, Asoba, Cosma, Matter Intelligence, Lithos Carbon, Smartex, and Thea Energy.

We’re excited to be working with AWS and IRCAI to advance the state of AI weather forecasting, and grateful for the opportunity. We can’t wait to show you the AI weather forecasting tools that we are building.
